Cobalt Sportfishing will take you up to 20 miles up and down the coast to target Yellowtail, Rockfish, Sea bass, and Halibut, The season will determine the fish we target. We will hunt the kelp paddys as well as the kelp beds outside of Point Loma to La Jolla. A continental breakfast is served with non-alcoholic beverages and snacks. Feel free to bring your own beverages. Rods/reels, live bait and tackle are included.

Or as the locals call it “Three Quarter Day” This full day Cobalt Sportfishing trip allows you the opportunity to get on the fish and fill up your freezer. We will take you up and down the coast line and fish the kelp beds for Yellowtail, Calico Bass, Rock fish, White Sea bass, and Halibut. You can expect to troll, use live bait and your favorite lure to land fish. You will be served a continental breakfast and lunch, non-alcoholic beverages and snacks. All permits are included. The Coronado Islands are typically one of the most bountiful places to fish near San Diego. We will be in waters of Mexico so you MUST have a PASSPORT. Fishing techniques consists of bait and lure casting, fly-lining and jigging. Target fish are, Yellowtail, Calico Bass, Barracuda and Dorado. A continental breakfast will be served as well as lunch with non-alcoholic beverages and snacks. Feel free to bring your own beverages. Rods/reels, live bait and tackle are included.

Cobalt Sportfishing offshore trips are one of the most popular due to the amount of ground we can cover, searching for active paddys and trolling along the way. The excitement you get when we see the active paddy or fish boiling up on the surface is an indescribable experience! We will be targeting local Pelagic fish, including Bluefin, Yellowfin, Yellowtail, Dorado and more! A continental breakfast will be provided as well as lunch with non-alcoholic beverages and snacks. This Cobalt Sportfishing trip allows you to hop aboard, have some fun and get some rest, while the captain and crew pick up live bait to take you offshore and start fishing early the next morning. The boat will return between 8-9 pm the next day! We include three full meals on this trip, so all you need to bring are your clothes and your creature comforts. Feel free to bring your own adult beverages. We provide fresh bedding with pillows, rods/reels, tackle and live bait. Targeting all local pelagic fish. This is our most popular trip!!

Example of a 1.5-day Cobalt Sportfishing trip: Depart at 9 pm Friday to pick up live bait and head out to the fishing grounds. Fish all day Saturday until late and return Sunday around 5-6 am. Target species are, Yellowfin tuna, Bluefin tuna, Bigeye tuna, Dorado, and Yellowtail. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be provided along with snacks and non-alcoholic beverages. What an amazing trip! From the moment we stepped on board, the service was amazing. With beers on ice (and in hand) we headed south to claim our bounty. Captain Ted and crew woke us at first light and the troll was on. Eyes half open, the smell of fresh coffee in the air , BAM!! Double hook up!!! With adrenaline pumping we put both fish on board, two bluefin and it’s barely first light. Soon after we began fishing the kelp paddies. We were able to fly line a few yellowtail, all above 15lbs! When we weren’t fishing, we were exchanging stories with the crew while eating excellent food. What a great experience for our first time on a 6 pack. We will definitely be doing it again!
BOAT WAS INCREDIBLE
Simple, Cobalt fishing will put fish on the deck and make sure your having a good time doing it. Coming from a boat owner I appreciate the fishability and comfort of Cobalt. The boats fully equipped with multiple beds, full galley, stocked fridge of food/beer, and plenty of snacks to grab between the bites. Southern Cal fishing is all about the presentation of live bait which we had three scoops of, not one turned belly up throughout the day. I would like to thanks Jason the capt for his attentiveness towards fishing and ability to find fish. He got us on a school around noon and fished it till sundown, always 1-3 fish hung at a time. The bite was so hot we picked up 2 yft yo-yoing a colt sniper. Tips for a great trip include plenty of screwball and eating the head off a sardine! Tight lines and bloody decks.
